NEW YORK (Reuters) - Superproducer James "Jimmy Jam" Harris III insists there is no truth to the rumors that he and fellow founding members of the funk band the Time are set to reunite. "We never broke up," says Harris, the keyboardist in the original lineup of the group, whose early 1980s hits included Jungle Love and 777-9311. "We broke up from making records, but never from being friends. "We always get together and jam, and always record everything we do," he added in a recent telephone interview. "There is probably enough material to actually do an album if we wanted to do that. We just haven't decided if we want to. It's a matter of whether everybody wants to put the time into actually doing a record." And what about the Time? Assembling the original lineup for a new album wouldn't appear to be too difficult. Founding members Morris Day, Jellybean Johnson, Monte Moir and Jerome Benton are already playing selected dates together in major cities. And Harris said he enjoys making music with his old friends. "I love to just sit down behind the keyboards and play, get Terry on the bass, get 'Bean or Morris to kick some drums," he said. "We do a lot of that. It's very therapeutic." Might the Artist once named Prince join in on the jam? "He hasn't yet, although we are talking to him about doing some stuff," Jam said. "To me it's not a Time record without his involvement anyway. Once we do get together and jam, we could literally do an album in three days."
