Dear Blog,

Sixteen weddings in 8 weeks !!  That is the reason why I ignore you sometimes. After photographing a wedding there is;

2 hrs of downloading files to multiple hard drives, 3 hrs running through editing process for blog pics, 1 hr of resizing photos for blog, 8 hrs of colour management and editing for printing, 2 hrs getting album layout proofs designed, 1 hr sorting and putting photos into albums

That gives a grand total of 19 hours for one wedding from start to finish. Phew !! So you can imagine dear blog after 16 weddings in eight weeks I am very tired, very behind in blogging and do neglect you. We are going off on a break though and when I come back I will be back to fine form and ready to invest quality time into you. Let’s call it a ‘recharge and recovery’ and I can’t wait !!

One of  last weekends wedding was Katie & Joe’s amazing day. It felt like one big family gathering, well a massive family gathering with 165 people !! There were five couples who we have already photographed their weddings. Katie and Joe are so well loved by so many people. You could see the delight on everyones faces when Katie walked down the aisle. It was obvious that every person who was there holds both Katie and Joe very deeply in their heart.

With so many little ones in a bridal party you would think it would be chaos. The flowergirls and pageboys were the sweetest, most well behaved kids you could imagine. It is a credit to Katie and Joe, the bridal party and the parents of the kids. The littlies walked down the aisle so proudly and you could see they took their jobs very seriously.

Congrats Katie and Joe. Your wedding day went perfectly. It was honour to capture your day, you made it all so easy. xo

Today is a special day for us. Today Jason and I celebrate 10 years since our first date.

Ten years seems like a long time yet for other moments, has passed all to fast. I never thought life would take the path it has for me. I never saw myself where I am today. One thing that I do know is that I wouldn’t trade any of the last ten years for anything.

He knows everything about me. When I am stressed, he comes home with a tub of cookies and cream ice cream and makes me a malibu and coke, two things that are essential in my world. He knows all of the little mannerisms I have like making up my own words, grunting when I am tired and need a hug, going hyperactive when I am really over tired. He knows I am a control freak, stress way to much and over analyse the world. Most of all he knows how to keep me grounded and sane.

A lot of people couldn’t spend as much time as we do together. We live together, work together and play together. In fact there is barely a time when we are apart. I don’t know the answer as to why it works for us, it just does. My guess is that we share the same goals and we have excellent communication. We have our share of disagreements, but it is hard to give someone the silent treatment when they are staring at you from their desk across the room.

He knows everything that makes me laugh, and always knows how to make everything perfect. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to score a husband as loving, caring, gentle and amazing as Jase.

Thank you baby for making the last yen years the best of my life. Thank you for the letters that started it all off. Thank you for being such an amazing husband and father. You have shown me so many things, taught me so many lessons and loved me unconditionally. I love you with all of my heart and cannot wait to spend the next ten years as happy as we are now.

Happy 10 year anniversary xo

“Do you think it will rain?”

That was the words Jess said to me as she was getting into her gown. We all looked out the window and tried to sound convincing when we said it would pass by ceremony time. None of us knew what the weather was going to do and having a ceremony on Pilot Hill in Harrington in the rain didn’t seem like a great idea.

As we were driving out to Harrington the rain bucketed down. We knew there would have to be a change of plans but what was that going to be? There was no back up plan in Harrington and moving all the guests back to Taree would have severely delayed their day. That point in time is when you need a Dan in your family. Someone who convinces the lady in the Op Shop to open up the hall so the wedding can go ahead. PERFECT !!! I will publicly thank Dan and the Op Shop lady for making the ceremony happen. It all went perfectly, everyone stayed dry and by the time the ceremony was concluded the sun was out. Family photos back on the hill, how perfect.

Jess & Con thought outside the square and picked awesome vehicles for their bridal party. They had a fleet of super impressive golf mobiles. When they told me they had golf buggies I was skeptical about these things making it up Pilot Hill. I was very impressed when these mobiles rolled up to the hall and I never knew golfers had so much choice when it came to style on the course. Jess arrived in Pop’s pride and joy. The car that never makes it out of the shed except for those really special occasions. There was barely a dry eye when Pop stood there and cried tears of joy. To see his grandchildren in his car, still in perfect condition, it was all a little to much.

The day was perfect. Jess & Con are just stunning. With the most awesome bridal party, we had a great time capturing shots all around Crowdy. It hardly seems like work when everything is so easy. The shots speak for themselves.

Congratulations Con & Jess. You really planned an awesome wedding day. I loved every minute. xo

Here are the pics that I talked about below. They deserved a blog post all of their own.

This shoot is all about having fun. Doing things you wouldn’t normally on your wedding day and just enjoying the moment. The images speak for themselves.

We often photograph two weddings a day which means Jason photographs one wedding and I photograph the other. When it comes to blogging about their day I always have to ask a million and one questions about the couple, the wedding, any details I need to know. I really love sharing the story of the wedding day, the moments, the emotion. That is how we photograph and that is how I write, with emotion.

Jason photographed this wedding while I stayed in Taree to photograph the gorgeous Jess & Con (that is coming tonight).  He came home that night extremely happy with the whole day. Everything went perfectly despite the rain at the end. He got brilliant photos and the couple were awesome. The biggest thing he raved about was the stretch hummer. Something about boys and cars I think that I never usually understand, but I totally got it when I saw the photos. Keiran’s father loves his cars and only wanted the best for his daughters wedding day, boy did he deliver!

I got to meet Joey & Keiran last week when Jase and I both went to Port for their trash the dress shoot. When I met them I could see how much fun this couple have. They are the most down to earth, gorgeous couple. I told them I needed some info for the blog and started firing questions.

I asked them where they first met, they both gave each other a smug grin and said, “a nightclub”. I had a feeling there was a bit more to the story and then probbed for more information. I found out that Joey asked for two numbers that night, Keiran’s and her friends. He wasn’t sure which he wanted to get to know better. I don’t think any further info is required as the rest is history.

Loved meeting you both last week. Have an amazing time in Italy !

After much anticipation, the wedding of Brooke and Ben makes it’s arrival to the blog. Things are still crazy, crazy around here and we are all systems go until the end of the month when we get a much deserved holiday !!

Brooke & Ben were married a couple of weekends ago at the Harrington Catholic Church. I must confess I never knew there was a Catholic Church in Harrington but I now know about this beautiful little church and it is the perfect place for a church service.

After our pre wedding shoot earlier that week, Ben & Brooke knew how to relax infront of the camera. They knew just to be them and the results would happen. These two have a relationship based on fun. They both share the same sense of humour and laugh at themselves and each other all the time. You can see that these two have chemistry.

We toured the local Crowdy sights for their location shots before making our way back to the Crowdy Head Surf Lifesaving Club for Ben & Brooke’s reception. With all their closest friends and family, Brooke & Ben laughed, shared memories and celebrated their future.

We were delighted to be a part of Ben & Brooke’s wedding day. It is extra special when you get to watch old school friends start a new chapter of their life. Congratulations Ben on finding such a amazing woman. You have found yourself a real gem ! xo
