We had two family portrait xmas special days. One was supposed to be a country setting, the other was a beach day. Luckily the sun was good to us for the beach photos.

One of the families who joined me was the Stone family. I have photographed these kids at preschool or at the studio as individuals but it was about time that we got the whole family together. They live and breathe the beach so it was right in the kids comfort zone. Mum and Dad were also easy going as far as the wet clothes went, so the kids had the freedom to have fun and be themselves.

All round success !!

This was the same day as I took the Murray/Hammond shoot blogged below. The rain decided it would come and ruin my plans. A plan however is only ruined if you let it and I am to stubborn to let that happen. When I called Rochelle to discuss the options for the shoot, she felt the same as me - “it’s only water”

I had the most amazing experience capturing the energy and enjoyment of kids. There was never a moment of “don’t get dirty, brush your hair, get away from the dirt” - all things we say to our kids most of the time.

I highly encourage everyone to let your kids play in the rain and mud next time. Get your camera and take photos of them just doing what makes them happy. Being kids, getting dirty and experiencing the freedom to do whatever they please. After a while, join them. Get out in the rain and mud and you will find out how much fun it is. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learnt so much !

Thanks guys xo

I remember Imogen’s newborn shoot like it was yesterday. It was one that stands out from the rest as she was the first bub to road test the new studio. Her Mum and Dad never batted an eyelid at all the power tools and rubbish everywhere when they came in with their tiny newborn.

We were early into the renovations of the studio and the place was a absolute mess !! It didn’t stop them from bringing little Immy in and letting me  test the different lighting conditions, the new poses and begin my journey in a totally new way way of shooting. Her shots are still some of my favourites and a shoot I did last weekend requested some of their photos exactly the same as Imogen’s newborn ones.

Throughout the year, Imogen has developed personality. I have watched her reach her physical milestones of sitting, crawling and walking along with the development of her personality. She is the sweetest little princess and gives the biggest grins but like most girls, has that little bit of attitude sneaking in and I love it !! The character the bubs start to show is my favourite thing to capture and I know I have done just that over the 12 months.

We have a heap of blog posts ready and waiting to go !!! Yay, I am back on track !! Every day this week and the next week and definately the week after that, there will be blog posts. I am back and ready to get right back in.

One of our Christmas Special days last year was meant to be a beautiful sunny country setting. I had the images in mind and knew exactly how they were to look. I didn’t however think that we would have torrential rain on that day! Every shoot still went ahead but in very different locations.

The Murray/Hammond families had organised the whole family get together to update the family album and wall. They gave me a call and said, “Let’s go with the train station” and that is exactly where we went.

I love working with this family, in fact I think they would even let me sneak into the family dinner and be a part of the furniture. We have photographed Loz & Dan’s wedding, have just finished their bub’s first year and we are about to photograph Jess & Con’s upcoming nuptials. I thoroughly enjoy every moment I get to spend with them and it is always a pleasure. Never feels like work. Enjoy guys xo

Lisa is absolutely gorgeous !!! I can see why Paul has chosen her from everyone else in the world to spend his life with. She has a gorgeous heart, gorgeous personality, gorgeous eyes and a gorgeous smile. Do you think she is gorgeous !?!

Last weekend Lisa & Paul tied the knot and  we got to spend a beautiful day with them. When I came home that night I said that I had totally enjoyed the day. The reasons for this were all because of who Lisa and Paul are as people.

They were relaxed and carefree after the ceremony.

They allowed plenty of time for their location shoot.

They were ready for anything and allowed us to pick the locations as she trusted in us. Trusted in us as professionals and in our images.

I love it when people trust what they see. People book photographers because of their images. Through images comes personality and what you believe. We believe in capturing natural, beautiful art. That means that we take the normal emotion from a couple and throw in some funky, fresh, modern locations, and that is when art is created.

Congratulations on becoming husband and wife guys. I can see why you two have chosen each other. You are both amazing people who have so much love to share.

Enjoy xo

WANT MORE? …… Check out our facebook page for more of Lisa & Paul’s wedding

Behind the Scenes …..

I NEVER post photos of myself. I like everyone else, analyses every single photo taken of me. I do find these really different. It shows ME.

I am such a hands on person. I find it so much easier to show someone something than to explain and Jase finds it amusing to capture me doing just that. I have lost count of the photos he has of me pulling stupid faces demonstrating something for a bride or groom. I think I might save them all this year just to see how I really look doing my job :-)

They live in the U.S but when Aimee began to plan her wedding, it was a quiet little place in NSW Australia where she wanted to be married. When I asked Daniel on Saturday why they chose Seal Rocks, he said cause Aimee wanted to. That is the type of guy he is. He is so in love with Aimee that every wish is fulfilled for her.

Aimee and Daniel brought out to Australia the family and friends that were the closest. Everyone was so excited to see them tie the knot. I knew that it was going to be a brilliant day when I first saw Aimee. We had only ever corresponded via email but I knew who she was as soon as I saw the bright grin and the way she danced down the road towards the ceremony.

Aimee was determined to have a great wedding, and she got every wish. Congrats guys. It really was an amazing ceremony. I know already you to are destined to be together forever.
